Whilst ombré has been very popular recently, commonly known as dip dye, not many people are aware of the balayage technique. Whereas ombré has a far more striking transition between the colours resulting with a two toned effect, The balayage creates a sun kissed natural look. Benefits of the balayage technique is that as the colour grows out, it has a much more natural look than the normal way we would high light with foils. Similarly to the ombré; it is a lot less damaging to the hair than standard colouring techniques. It also allows clients with naturally dark hair/skin/eyes to have blonde in their hair blonde without washing them out. Balayage originated in Paris and translated as to sweep which is exactly how to describe the way this world; the hair is painted in a sweeping motion to ensure a natural and soft blend. This look is commonly created with bleach, however can also be done with other colours such as reds, coppers or browns.
