Whiskey Pier, West Loch Disaster, the African American Soldiers that were on board the Navy LST 353 Vessel on MAy 21, 1944 in West Loch unloading Mortar at the time of the explosion of Six LST Navy Ships, no roster of this unit’s casualties was included in the Navy report. And as we marked the 70th year anniversary of this Naval Accident, there is no Honorary Placard with a list of the names of the casualties or any Marble commemoration plate to Honor the fallen Soldiers. We filmed 4 Star General Vincent Brooks keynote speech to honor the fallen soldiers watch, his speech and our tribute to the soldiers and footage of the last standing hull of the LST 480 that is still visible out across Whiskey Pier. tonight 8:30pm ch55 in Honolulu.
