White Armored Unicorn Commissioned request of a generation 3 custom pony figure of a white unicorn in full detailed armor inspired by the Knight of Etro attire I crafted for a Lightning Ferron custom pony commission. This one’s to be in gold armor with silver accents, long white hair and honey-colored eyes. So, this is what I came up with, got some starting off points and pulled this design from my mind~ Pony base is a custom engineered pose from two different white generation 3 ponies- body of a jewel pony, head from a Core 7 Sweetie Bell clone pose. Severed Sweetie Bell’s original horn off to replace it with a long pike-like golden horn. Front of mane re-rooted in RetroDollUS’s monofiber hair in the color Platinum Blond, saran Frostbite then the rest of the mane and the tail in white and pale beige curly doll hair purchased from doll craft isle of Michaels craft store. Tied mane with 3 pieces of white leather fringe I braided into the hair. Bangs hardened in my hair gel method. Added tufts of white faux fur under the head piece and at the base of the tail. Armor is crafted from silver and gold thin vinyl. Some beige and acorn authentic leather pieces here and there, all armor pieces were drawn out on card stock paper then traced and cut out of the materials. Hand-stitched a lot of the pieces together, added some cream lace in some spots. Wired some metal beads and metal bits together via floral wire for the front chest crest. Armor embellished in gold, silver, and white metallic rhinestones and some silver oval hoops. Head gear is stitched from the acorn leather, the shiny vinyls, some white vinyl, metallic lace, pear beads, some hand-stitched elk horns on the sides stitched from white leather fringe. Decided to make a unicorn blade sword to match the white unicorn in all the armor. Chose a thick round wooden dowel for the hilt, and used the gold vinyl for the main blade, and the thick acorn leather layered overtop the blade and painted in gold and pewter metallic acrylics. Took two horns from generation 4 Princess ponies and painted them gold and sealed them. Took a leather puncher and punched holes in the sides of the horns to wire them to the silver hoop beads. Wired some more long and flower silver beads for the hilt. Wrapped the white leather fringe around the hilt, and did everything in more leather, floral wire, rhinestones, chains…. Things… lots of things….
