White-bellied Sea-Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster); soaring on - TopicsExpress

White-bellied Sea-Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster); soaring on thermals; note bi-coloured under wing-white parts are the wing-coverts (linings); blackish-grey parts are the flight feathers-the outer fingered parts are the primaries; the inner half of the flight feathers are the secondaries; note short, white, wedge-shaped tail with black band at base; wings are held upwards in a steep V (dihedral); reminiscent of a giant butterfly when soaring/gliding on massive up-swept wings and a short, abbreviated tail.
