Who Killed Lucy Beale?: The clue we all missed! The “Who Killed Lucy Beale?” storyline has been arguably the best soap who-dunnit the century, spanning 10 months, the storyline set to wrap up in just under a month with the killer’s true identity set to be revealed in the soap’s live 30th anniversary special. Bosses of the flagship BBC soap have kept us all hooked by making every one on the square a suspect, dropping new clues every week and throwing in more twists and turns along the way than a roller coaster at Alton Towers. But it appears they have also been dropping some cheeky little clues elsewhere too, such as the EastEnders Children in Need special titled “The Ghosts of Ian Beale”. Some pesky twitter users tried to crack the case and spotted a certain someones name scribbled across Ian’s crossword. Ian was doing a crossword in the laundrette which was puzzling him somewhat. Denise then accidentally knocks him out with the dryer door and he soon enters a dream state. However, the crossword continues to puzzle Ian, even in his dream. Soon enough, Lucy turns up… In his dream, Ian asks Lucy who murdered her… In response, she tells him she’s finished his crossword for him. Lucy then leaves the laundrette swiftly in an emotional scene. When Ian awakens from his dream, the crossword has been completed with “I LOVE YOU” written in. However, if we take a closer look, we can quite clearly see “L E E” (just under the red ink). Is this just a massive coincidence or was this put there on purpose as a major clue? We recently discovered that Lee has serious anger problems but would he really go as far as to killing Lucy Beale?! Earlier this month, Lee Carter was actually revealed to be one of the fourteen possible suspects to who killed Lucy.
