Who are the Beatles? Let the education continue... In 1968, an animated movie was released featuring Beatles songs titled, Yellow Submarine. Here is a snippet from it which may not be the original visual footage (Im unsure). The song itself was released on the Revolver album in 1966. . I remember singing this song on the bus when I rode it home from school the first day of school. Winston-Salem, NC had recently been integrated, and my new friend Robert Miller (who happened to be black) had been greeted by his older brothers and sisters. They were waving at children on the buses, meeting Roberts new friends. His brother asked me to sing the song for him, then asked me to make a fist like this (a sign of black power), then fist bumped me. He delighted in seeing me as a little blonde, blue-eyed white girl who didnt see color, only people.
