Who are the most screwed up Indians???? Around 7,50,000 Engineers pass out every year, after 4 years of being crushed down by the system. Ones who aspired of being inventors and changing the world end up having criteria of whats the pay package? An average engineer writes around 220 large pages of assignments every semester which does not include graphs, drawing sheets, programs, etc. That adds up around 1680 large writing pages of assignments in entire engineering. Printouts/Xeroxing journals? Around 500 pages every semester. i.e. 4000 pages printouts. Around 5 mini projects and one final year project in entire engineering. The making part is interesting, but the theses? Around 700 typed pages of thesis. 70% of time is spent doing all this so only 30% of time a student can study. Some get good marks despite of this, but Should he not do anything enjoyable or extracurricular in his life along with getting good marks? After all this, what do we achieve? Just theoretical knowledge with minimal practical knowledge. That too the theoretical knowledge of the Syllabus that is not even near new technology. All you have is a number that specifies you are a so called Gold Medalist Some students with good family financial background go abroad to study.Most Computer/IT engineering students who dreamt of becoming Programmers, web developers, etc. and most Electronics and related branch students who dreamt of making robots and electronic equipments, get job in companies like TCS, Infosys, iGate, etc. with a pay package around 3.25 and a waiting time of 6months to 1 year. They need your engineer tag. Work training is given by them. Most Mechanical, Electrical engineers who dreamt of having a great job in a big industry, end up with a small pay package in a small factory. Or nevertheless again, an IT job. So as the question says, who are the most screwed up Indians? Id say Engineering students.
