Who can deny the power of words to inspire, to deflate, to encourage, to discourage, to help, to hurt? The psalmist found the words of God, sweeter than honey. Unlike your own words, his words are always life-giving. Though you may find pleasure in other books, the one God wrote has the power to transform you from the inside out. I can personally say that Im renewed and strengthened daily as I spend time in His word. Its by His Word that Im held, molded and sent out to try and make a difference for His Kingdom. Its His Word that has guided me and counselled me. No wonder this perennial bestseller has stood the test of time. As Rev. John D. Mean wrote and sings so wonderfully, Its my bible, its my bible, tis Gods Word dont you see, from Genesis to Revelation, it was written for me, youll find salvation and redemption so full and so free. Its my bible, my beautiful bible, Gods Revelation to me. As I listened to this great elder sing this song last Saturday at the 40th Anniversary in Dartmouth, I couldnt help but be thankful once again for His Word. He is one man who has lived it everyday! I sat across from him at the banquet and it was only a couple minutes before he started talking about the Word of God! Just listening to this elder brought tears to my eyes. Such a faithful man of God! Thank-you Rev. John Mean for teaching us the true value of Gods Word. I will forever hold it dear to my heart! If more people would spend time in prayer and the word, they would face lifes challenges with greater ease and in the process make the difference needed in our world. Help us Lord to place the proper value on your Word & live it out each day.
