Who cares about a controversial prisoner exchange? The bigger tragedy is that we are fighting an infinitely expensive War on Terror with the entire world---a campaign so vague and open ended that it is logically impossible to define. It is time to reconsider our national moral compass when no American child under the age of 14 can remember what peacetime even feels like.....because their country has literally been at war for their entire lives!!! (the current War on Terror is the longest running conflict in US history) If you think this doesnt permanently affect the psyche and political worldview of young Americans, think again. We are subtly brainwashing an entire generation of youth to accept permanent warfare as a socially acceptable norm. Earlier generations of Americans could be counted on to protest questionable uses of our military! But, of course, they had actual memories of peacetime. Todays young Americans have no such memories. All they know is war.
