Who cares about the Foos Ball (Waterboy reference :-) )... I am ready for pitchers and catchers to report! Anyway, I think Aoki was a good signing, and really goes with the Giants direction this season. They are going back to the 2012 formula of speed and defense. They finished last in MLB in HRs that year and it didnt turn out too bad for them :-) They actually had, if I recall, the best road record in MLB that year. Cain, according to Henry Schulman, is at 100%, which means the Giants could have The Horse to go with THE HORSE at the top of the rotation. Bochy said hat Cain has his bone chips in a jar and could not understand how Cain could even pitch the last 2-3 years, which explains a lot. Remember, Cain did not lose much velocity and is *younger* than Timmy. If he comes back, that is like picking up Shields, or better. Sabean decided to take the team down the speed and defense route, and who can blame him? The Giants have power, with Belt, Pence, and Posey. Two of them hit over 20 HRs last year, and Belt hit 12 in 61 games. Do you know how many other 2015 NL West Lineups have more than one 20+ HR player? The Rockies. Thats it. Not LA, not SD. No one else. Quit griping about power. The Giants are adding speed to their lineup, which fits that ballpark they play in 81 times a year, not to mention playing in SD and LA. Triples alley will be active this year. The pitching? Well, they have one of the youngest position staffs in MLB, but they have the *oldest* pitching staff in MLB. Time to let the prospects in. The Giants will be fine in 2015. I would like to see them move Pagan to the middle of the order (remember, he hit 16 HRs in 2012, and broke the team record for 3Bs that year), which gives them a switch hitter in the middle of the order, and puts high OBP Aoki and Panik at the top. It also stretches the lineup, by putting Pagan 5th or 6th in the lineup. As for pitching, I believe Cain will bounce back, but not quite to what he was (although he *will* get Cained this year, you know it), MadBum to be MadBum, Hudson to be about .500, Peavy to be the wild card in this, in that, he could have a great year, or be at about Vogey levels, and I really have no expectation from Timmy. The Giants will be in it until the end, and, should they get in, they know what to do...
