Who could forget Gorgonzola? Certainly not her new Mom who at first sight knew she had to save her - and change her name!! Thanks to your donations, her heart worm treatment will be covered which made the decision to adopt so much easier. Please make a donation today so we can continue to help. friendsofhcas.org Gorgonzolas story by her new Mom, Devin I honestly dont know where to start when it comes to Mia. When I first saw her, I wasnt looking to adopt another dog. On October 4th, It was the first Saturday of the month which is when they hold their adoption event at hcas. I went to visit with some coworkers from my job that had a booth there. Well turns out by the time I got to hcas my coworkers had already packed up so I thought Jeeze, Im already here... Might as well go give these pups some love. Now let me just say, I am so so so grateful i walked in to that building. After entering I walked past a dog that had obviously had way too many litters (you could tell by her physical appearance) named Gorgonzola. I stopped and asked this sweet dog Who in the world would name a pretty girl like you after cheese?? And I swear to you, she looked up at me and just smiled (LITERALLY SMILED!) My heart melted at the fact that this dog that has obviously been used for breeding and was at hcas for almost a month yet still could manage to smile. I asked to do a meet and greet and also asked if she has any medical conditions. They did tell me she was heart worm positive but with this girl already at hcas for a month theres no way I could have just walked away and leave her to spend another night alone. So just like that I loaded her up, took her home, THOUGHT OF A NEW NAME (haha) and introduced her to her two new brothers Diesel and Dozer. They have all become best friends and spend every second together. Mias favorite hobbies have become trying to see how fast she can get to the bottom of her food bowl, finding new places to take naps, and hiding all the bones in the house. I honestly wouldnt trade this girl for the world and I am so thankful FoHCAS is willing to fund her heart worm treatment and has given me the chance to take in another beautiful dog and give her the life she never had. So thank you again, and Mia also says thanks!!!
