The visual and written media and social networking there has been news about the situation at the Albanian universities. All together they referred to one of the largest groups of research in Spain, Superior Council for Scientific Research (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas), which published on its website (webometrics.info) the ranking of the best universities in the world for the first six months of 2014. As always, the Albanian Universities were part of it. For the fourth time, Epoka University remains at the top of the list of Albanian universities. It is ranked as 3701 in the world while in Albania it is on the top. It is followed by University of Tirana, which ranks nearly 3 thousand place below, around 6247, then is the Polytechnic University of Tirana, in 8716 place, then comes Beder University in 9573 place and University “Luigj Gurakuqi” in Shkodra in 10,132 place. Regarding to the Albanian universities in the Balkans, Epoka University is on the top followed by University of Pristina (4937), University of Eastern Europe (7070 in the world) and the 4th in Macedonia, while State University of Tetovo is ranked on the seventh in Macedonia (11,334 in the world). As you can see, referring to the ranking of Albanian Universities, in the first fifth places there are two private universities, Epoka University and Beder University, while the other three ones are state universities. “Vitrina” University is ranked on the sixteenth position and the fifth referring to the private Universities. But it happened the contrary with the inspectors set by Ministry of Education and precisely Alqi Kushi, Niko Hyka, Florian Nurçe, Renata Qatipi, Arta Tani and Holta Seferi, the inspection of whom became the basis for the proposal on 04th August 2014 of the Ministry of Education and for the approval of it on 06th August 2014 for the license revocation of eighteen universities and suspension of activity for some others. From a quick search for all inspectors, less than qualified or specialized people who at least could come from the universities environment, they recall the worker-peasant years of the regime that we have just left behind. (Before you get this assertion true, even an elementary pupil can easily do this research and conclude that persons designated for inspection to the public and non-public universities by the Ministry of Education are completely anonymous and incompetent). Related to the legality of the “Vitrina” University, there was no qualified lawyer part of the Audit from the Ministry of Education. Part of them were engineers, economists, political science graduate persons, all kinds of occupations, but no Qualified Lawyer to whom it can be trusted the legality or illegality Reasoning. I require to the all Media, National and International Institutions taking under consideration the justice in Albania and to every organization or individual interested on correcting this injustice and illegality caused by the irresponsible committee which also caused a irreparable damage toward “Vitrina” University. Please make the necessary verification and understand who inspected and signed the legality and illegality of ‘Vitrina” University. Obviously, objecting the unqualified inspectors (one of them comes from Kashari), does not mean that we are against reform in higher education. It is undertaken on the needed time, and it should be deeper, but with experts and professionals.
