Who here is on a diet? Do you calorie count? Do you eat out often? - TopicsExpress

Who here is on a diet? Do you calorie count? Do you eat out often? How about for lunch? Or do you pack a lunch? I eat out as seldom as possible because its very stressful to count everything! I end up cooking everything at home unless its a special occasion like Thanksgiving, friends birthday, skate weekend, etc. I COULD keep doing this for the rest of my life, but it seems a bit suboptimal. Surely theres a good way to perfectly hit your diet for the day and not have to cook every meal, every week? Theres a startup called HealthyOut thats trying to map all the nutritional data of restaurant food, everywhere. Seems like a nice idea, but they are having a hell of a time covering all the restaurants out there. Im wondering if they have bitten off more than they can chew. Theres a startup called Vessyl which makes a smart cup which will calorie count anything put inside of it. A great step forward, but it doesnt work on solid foods. Do I bring a Vessyl and a blender with me and just blend all my meals out? Seems a bit silly. Also, both of these approaches involve surrendering to whats on the menu. Ive had the experience of being, at different times, on very low fat and very low carb diets that are nigh-impossible to accommodate at nearly every restaurant. I know a lot of nutrition-minded folks are busy and cant afford to cook every meal they eat. Whats your strategy? Please tell me there is one. Else: do we need to band together and make a new solution for this? Maybe a service where you input your daily macronutrient needs and get gram-accurate food delivered? Hah. Or perhaps I should just relax a bit on the diet thing? Give me your opinion. Many thanks!
