Who is Gary Russell you ask? He is first and foremost Tsalagi! I Derive my heritage from my mothers side seemingly fitting since the Cherokee were a matriarchal people, i am from East Prairie , Missouri a land rich in native history we have numerous mounds and ancient village sites all over this area where points can be found virtually in almost every field, it is at the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio rivers just 20 moles north of new madrid epicenter of the 1811-12 earth quake and crossing site of Hernando Desoto. Also one of the overland crossing sites of the trail of tears with the other within 50 miles. I am mareied with 4 daughters and 3 grandchildren . My occupation is over the road truck driver favorite pass times include spending time with family, hunting points, doing research n visiting native sites, hunting n fishing i frequently smudge and enjoy many of our native traditions and foods. I am Proud to be Tsalagi !
