Who is MrTheportal ? A lot of people ask me this question through social networks and I answer them by saying that I am a simple fan of tabletennis. My name is Claudio, Im 39 years old and for about 15 years I did coach in non-pro teams in Italy (my own Country) by combining my job with a great passion for tabletennis. I spent all my free time to learn and teach this wonderful sport, getting with my students good results in the Nationals competitions (including a Cadet National Champion in single, double and mixed doubles). Some of my athletes participated in the European Youth Championships and also a student of mine played in the first Italian League. In recent years, my main job has become more and more challenging, forcing the painful but inevitable decision to give up the activity of coaching. What does all this with the videos? When I coached, to motivate my students, I began to assemble the videos of their matchs with their best points, adding motivational and triumphant music and this has helped them to take greater awareness of their own means and self-confidence. Then, a second passion was born, that for video editing. As a joke I opened a youtube channel that I wanted to call the portal of table tennis but at the time of registration this name was already in use and automatically youtube suggested me some usernames ..... MrTheportal was one of them ..... ;) I uploaded some best of and I noticed that a lot of people liked my style so I continued with this hobby with the goal of making known to many people table tennis, using the power of the network. A few months ago I started to collaborate with the ITTF for which I edited the highlights of the major international events that they loaded on their youtube channel. Knowing that your work is appreciated by many people is a source of satisfaction for me, and diffusion of table tennis is the only reason for my commitment. This is MrTheportal :)
