Who is the Holy Spirit? The answer is (at least partially) is in the question. Who indicates personhood. I read something this week that said the Holy Spirit is the spiritual force of God. While it is true that the Spirit has the force of God (He is God after all) its not correct to think of the Spirit AS a force. Hes not some Jedi-mind trick God plays on unsuspecting humans. The Spirit is not force, mere essence, or a ghost- He is a person. And who the Spirit is matters a great deal for who we are (and what we have) as believers. Eph 1:13-14 says And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are Gods possession--to the praise of his glory.
