Who is your favorite super hero? Mine is Mr. Rogers. Mr. Rogers daily Schedule: 5AM - Pray, Study, write, make calls... and personally answer EVERY letter sent to him! Then take a swim. All his cardigans he wore on the show were knit by his mom. He only donated the red one to the Smithsonian because the color didnt go over well in TV. When he was exasperated his harshest word was Mercy. Reporters had a hard time interviewing him because he would ask them about their family, take pictures, compile a photo album for them and then follow-up for years calling them and seeing how they were doing. On a trip to a PBS executives house he heard the limo driver was going to have to wait outside for 2 hours so he insisted he come in and join them. On the way home he sat up front and learned they were passing his house so he had the driver stop, went in with him, met his whole family, played piano and the driver described it as the one of the best nights of his life. When the government wanted to cut funding for public television, before he was even known, he went and testified before congress. The were debating to cut funding from $9M dollars a year - they increased it to $22M. (Its amazing to see the change in demeanor of Senator John Pastore go from harsh to, as the Senator states it, having goosebumps youtube/watch?v=yXEuEUQIP3Q) He testified before the Supreme Court to allow VCRs. His argument was that allowing recording allowed parents to record shows such as his and watch them with their children to have discussions about them. Queen Sara - was named for his wife.
