Who knew a little mundane Leviticus recipe can reveal so much - TopicsExpress

Who knew a little mundane Leviticus recipe can reveal so much truth and be of so much importance in our personal lives ?! Leviticus 6:14-18 A sacrifice of Thanks Giving is to be made up of: four, oil and frankincense. Note, this combination (bread) is very holy, just like the sacrifice for sin (verse 17) FLOUR – the flour is to be fully ground and finely sifted (winnowed or threshed, free from coarseness, free from unevenness and empty of husks). Watch this video to better understand what it means to winnow and thresh in the life of a plant. The video is a bit long and it just seems to go on and on but I believe that too is of great relevance. https://youtube/watch?v=zG_0t7sIQ-c Over the years, the process has become more modernized but the effect and results are the same as far as the plant is concerned. (read and understand) OIL – the oil represents the anointing, being chosen or selected for a job or an assignment. The Oil is also representative of the Holy Spirit. So the implication of the Oil in this Thanks Giving recipe is to reassure me that God will not give me an assignment without pouring the power of the Holy Spirit Who will not only pray (intercede) for me, but also guide me, teach me and empower me so I can accomplish the task. FRANKINCENSE– we know very well that frankincense represent prayers - my own prayer life and constant communication with God as well as the prayers of others during my time of winnowing and threshing. My Thanks Giving sacrifice of pure flour, oil and frankincense is to be brought TO THE FRONT of God’s altar and then, it is to ”go up in smoke”. This would appear to be a complete waste of priceless resources (fine flour, oil and frankincense) – BUT it gives a sweet smell “which is pleasing to God”. In addition, the remaining ingredients (flour, oil and frankincense) are to be used to make breads for the priests. So after offering the first part of my flour, oil and frankincense to God, the remainder is for the benefit (spiritually, emotionally, etc) of those around me (read Galatians 5:22-23).
