Who know studying tragedy could be so much fun?!? The whole class lived together in a hotel which was about a 40 minute bike ride from the university. My classmates and I got a lot of bonding time in as we cycled and cycled some more around the town of Tilburg. In addition to fun, taking this class was healing and cathartic, which is what I was hoping for. I introduced the class to philosophy for children, philosophical counseling and The Barnes Foundation. I also shared with them Tims tragic story which grounded in the real everything we were abstractly studying from the ancient Greeks. I bonded with the Professor, Simon Critchley, and learned so much from him. I think I might have taught him something also. I anticipate hell be visiting the Barnes in the near future. But perhaps much more importantly I made a few friends in this class who I imagine will become life long friends.
