Who of my Muslim friends agree that ISIS does not stand for Islam? Can you share with me your religious outlook on them? Islam: a religion founded by Muhammad, whose followers worship one God only, the God of the Jews and Christians and follow the teachings of the Quran. Islam means, the submission to the will of God. Jihad: one of the words that is thrown way out of context. The word alone is to struggle or strive the Arabic word for war is, al-harb. Also for ones that believe, Allah is not the same God, in Aramaic, hula read from right to left is, God. Transliterated into English is, Elahh, pronounced, El-aw. Watch The Passion of the Christ and see what he calls God. All religions dont call God, God. If you read the Arabic Christian Bible he is still called Allah. Jews have 2 different ways of saying God, Eloheinu, or HaShem or what they will not speak is Yh-whYireh. Im not saying I got these exactly right but I know Im close. Just trying to clear up misconceptions.
