Who remembers Creature Features? It premiered in the Fall of 1970 on WGN TV at 10:30 PM every Saturday night . The show featured classic horror films from Universal Studios. The Creature that appeared in the shows intro was based on the character (Burke) Lon Chaney Sr. played in the 1927 classic silent horror film London After Midnight. The terrifying opening theme was Experiment In Terror composed by Henry Mancini & the creepy poem penned by Karen Verwolf & yes, that is her REAL name, was whispered over the intro music by WGN announcers Carl Greyson & later, Marty McNeely. Creature Features aired until 1976 when it ended.
