Who remembers Hideo Nomos near no hitter on national television at Candlestick Park in 1995? I was there, Royce Clayton broke it up. Pretty sure I booed. I told my coworker/friend about it years later and he really got on me, Im sure good naturedly but it bothered me. Im just that kind of person. Anyway it was a privilege to be there. The odd thing, and this is a bit sad, is that hes only been a fan since 2002 and so has no idea how much of an impact Nomo had. I tried to explain but he wouldnt budge. So after being a bit hurt he called, we talked, and we moved on. I think he insinuated that I wasnt a true Giants fan for doing that and that bothered me. And I dont believe I was wrong. Nomo was huge back then. I had never seen a no hitter in person. The Giants were going nowhere. I wanted the no hitter, sorry but I did. And when it didnt happen I was disappointed. Is that wrong? No I dont think so. Because like I said on the Kent thread Im not as intense about the rivalry as others might be. Im just not. Maybe its because Im just tired of all the violence that has broken out over the years over this shit. And I really am tired of it. The Brian Stowe beating sent me over the edge.
