Who says the government can’t do anything right? I’m - TopicsExpress

Who says the government can’t do anything right? I’m referring to this bit of news: “The creation of a publicly accessible digital archive with nearly 5,000 oral history interviews, conducted by the Chicago journalist Studs Terkel, is one of 177 projects awarded a grant this week by the National Endowment for the Humanities.” Oh joy! The people’s interviewer, he was the greatest listener this country may have ever had (except when he was off-duty and turned into the greatest talker this country may have ever had). I edited Studs in his later years and he was a national treasure as well as having the last voice in America out of which a cigar hung. (I swear that you could hear that cigar even on answering machine messages!) Tom artsbeat.blogs.nytimes/2014/07/25/studs-terkel-audio-archive-to-go-online/
