Who so ever is saying Nigeria is one is only deceiving himself. - TopicsExpress

Who so ever is saying Nigeria is one is only deceiving himself. Practically speaking, and otherwise Nigeria is such a divided entity, blinded with religious, tribal, educational and political sentiments. When you write in support of Nigeria, Nigerians will crucify you. Not that they dont know you spoke the truth, they are afraid of the authority coming after you. When you see what is wrong about an Igbo man and say it, Igbo man will prosecute you. Hausa man will praise you. If you support the Yoruba man, Hausa man will praise you. Yoruba man will seek your head. And if you speak against a wrong in Islam, Christians will honour you and Muslims will seek your head. Like that, like that. If you speak against the wrong of a political party, the other will praise while the one will attack you. Everybody is afraid of the authority. When Jonathan is wrong, no one will say it, for fear of going to jail or being killed. When IBB, Buhari or OBJ did wrong thing, we are afraid to tell them. Instead of acting, we are praying that God come down and fight for us! God will not come down, God has given us the authority so it is left for us to make use of it. It also painful when fear so blind people that they misrepresent truth for insult all because you mentioned names involve. However, I wish to let those gripped with fear know that I, Nuel Hernandez is not afraid of anything. If it is imprisonment, I am ready! If it is death, I am also ready! My mentors who stood for the truth stood alone, they there jailed and some killed: I talk about Peter Tosh, Fela Kuti, Wole Soyinka, Steve Biko,Ken Saro Wiwa, Marcus Garvey, Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu, Malcolm X, Martin Lurther King Jr. Mahatma Ghandi , Patrice Lumumba, Thomas Sankara, Lucky Dube among others. So, if I am arrested or killed for speaking truth, it no news. The truth is, I am not going for any reason support a bad and un progressive government. I will never support government who enriched themselves and toy with the progress of my beloved Nigeria. I am an advocate, as a writer, I believe, a writer should be above tribalism and all forms of sentiments. A writer to me should no praise a government whether they are doing right or not. My believe is that a writer as one with vision should always find errors in everything not because we hate, but because we want the yet, best. To me, a writer has no country, no favourite, no enemies and no friend. And I love it mostly when a writer is a radical. I seek change for my beloved Nigeria, not government that will gamble with lives and progress. Not government that will celebrate and take decades to free the poor in the hands of terror, but freed Ngozi Iwealas mother within a second. And if by chance the change I seeks comes and is not different from the former, I will not sleep, I will also speak against. But for the people. I do not wish you cheering! Likes or comments, I want you to please dont let sentiment blind you. That you can afford three square meal dont mean that man can. Dont feel comfortable because you are comfortable, feel comfortable because that poor man is comfortable.
