Who will be the Champion? We are mere hours away from finding out who will be the 2014 Australian Formula 500 Champion! After last nights racing there are any number of possible winners, some expected, some as surprise packages, but one thing is for sure, the racing last night was second to none and tonight it will be even better! Of the sixty eight drivers to compete last night in heat races, there was very little damage and most are expected to return again for the final night. The only known withdrawals at this stage are the V40 of Josh Fort who had a terrible run of luck and has decided to park it ready for the Bunny Burrowes Memorial tomorrow at Narrogin and Lizz Plummer who has front end damage and a fuel leak at the rear. Having sixty eight cars competing has worked well for the grid formatting, with the top twenty cars on points after the fourth round of heats tonight qualifying straight into the A Main event. Cars twenty first to fortieth will qualify directly into the B Main with cars forty first through to sixty eighth forming a full twenty eight car field in the C Main, with no D Main required. The top eight cars from the C Main race will qualify through into the back of the B Main, then the top eight cars in the B Main will qualify to the back of the A Main, with all races having twenty eight car fields. Looking at the total points (listed below) and where the cut off points stand at this stage before the final round of heats we see Steven Ellement sitting right on the edge, todd on points with Matt Higgs and Rob Trewartha. He starts out of position six in his final heat, but even if he wins it, he will only jump into fifth highest points position at the most; the top few cars are almost guaranteed to be locked into the A Main grid. Higgs is out of seven in his heat while Trewartha will be starting from tenth in his, making that battle incredibly close. Full grid draws for tonights final round are listed below. Further down the pack, Brett Janssen at this stage is the last driver in the B Main, with drivers such as Chanelle Condren, Adrian Fogliani, Dale Sinclair, Ash Snclair, Alan Iverson and Dylan Willsher needing some big results tonight to move out of the C Main. As previously said, anything can happen on a title weekend, you just need a little luck and to keep your nose clean. If the standard of last nights racing is anything to go by, we are sure to have an absolute fire cracker of a night. You wouldnt want to miss this one! Release by DTN Media.
