Who will ever forget Robin Leach screaming about the Champagne wishes and caviar dreams of The Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous? It was probably the one USA export that created the most animosity around the world for us over-consuming Americans, and might even have contributed to uprisings in the countries where abject poverty prevailed and the TV presented the citizenry its only opportunity to peak at the free world, uncontrolled by their oppressive governments. All that aside, while Robin is now doing his act as a local Las Vegas columnist, bon vivant, and buffet regular, Nick Cannon (“America’s Got Talent”) has been chosen by NBC to host a new network version. Well see what the champagne and caviar do to that six-pack. Budgets as they are these days, I expect champagne wishes, caviar dreams, Big Mac location shooting, and tons of product placement.
