Whoa! Even 16 years after his death, Dante Fascell is still receiving mail! Well, he WAS a very important figure in Biscayne National Park’s #history. In the 1960s, the islands of Biscayne Bay were targeted for development. Local environmental #pioneers fought for federal protection for the area. Dante Fascell was a longtime member of House of Representatives who lead the push for protection. On October 18, 1968, Dante was present as Lyndon B.
