Whoever APC fields as presidential candidate for the 2015 elections, if against this famously failed leader named GEJ, is my candidate. But Ill not embarrass myself with the absurd insult that an individual is the only capable of rescuing this country. Saying this means, if he bows out today, weve no replacement. We all need to stop celebrating this flawed trend, and begin pointing to alternatives - and there are many of them out there if properly managed. The only difference between Buhari and, say, Kwankwaso or Fashola is the extent of the indoctrination of the formers followers, not their political capability, not even the practicability of their expressed ideas. Ive been in Buharis camp since day one, fought for his cause, and now sympathise with him. What I do not endorse is having an individual promoted as the only option - which is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, Ill vote for the man if adopted as APC candidate. Someone even cited War Against Indiscipline as a worthy initiative we may enjoy when Buhari is finally there. In a democratic space? Seriously? I need a functional institution, but forcing me to obey a dysfunctional system invalidated the essence of my civic engagements. Im against extremisms along the lines of anything: religious, political, secular, economic, name it.
