Whoosh and just when you think life can’t get any busier, it - TopicsExpress

Whoosh and just when you think life can’t get any busier, it does. I have enjoyed a great week with my parents exploring Cornwall. The Minack theatre was truly amazing: one lady’s dream made into a reality, and we saw a very funny comedian Kernow King and his interpretation of Cornwall. The Eden Project was superb; I went there just as it opening a few years ago and seeing it now maturing was great. To think the Eden Project started as an idea in a shed! I love seeing other people passions, a small idea turned into creative reality. It is great to get out and about and experience Britain in glorious weather, but one thing that has saddened me was how terrible the service, accommodation and food is. I dont understand why?? Is it supply and demand? I was in a restaurant that did not live up to its £24 a main meal and when I complained they namechecked McDonalds... really - is this what it is all about? It is making me seriously look at how my team perform: we need to be more “yes I can do this for you”, not this restaurant’s attitude of “I cant be bothered, there will be other guests next week.” This is why I’m especially pleased with the lovely review about our salon from Hot Hot magazine that says “Out of all the hairdressers I’ve been to in London, I have to say that in terms of customer service, Karine Jackson wins hands down.” We want our clients to be thrilled with the service we give. Salon life goes on and today I was teaching wig cutting at the Goldwell Academy in Soho for the Project X Team. WHAT an inspiring bunch of students, I can’t wait to shoot their next collection with them in July. After finishing the seminar it was a dash back to the salon to do a few clients, then it was off to see Tracey Devine’s Fellowship Hairdresser of the Year show and I was not disappointed: fantastic. Love the work Tracey. Going to France tomorrow with my parents for 48 hours, cant wait. Then it’s back and I’ll be seeing my folks off at Heathrow :-( Saturday I’m going to our friends’ Sikh wedding and really looking forward to the day, I wish Manjit and Jaskiran a very happy day. On Monday Jess and I are heading to Russian to teach a 2 day seminar and I have been manically prepping for this. Scary, I have had to put my kit together already! So much to do and not a lot of time. Keep you posted, Karine
