Whos missing their ball? A male student called out matter of factly during a silent work period this morning. We all looked up at him, all 23 of us. I thought I kicked someones toe and I looked down and saw I had kicked someones ball off. No one said a word and we were all a little perplexed at his sincere concern. He bent over to pick up the sliced tennis ball that had slipped off someones chair. Oh,its mine, he declared as he flipped his chair over and slipped it back over the peg leg of the chair. A buddy beside him started to grin. You would think you would notice if you kicked your own balls off! Needless to say, we indulged ourselves in some laughter before settling back into a quiet work time. Teachers get to hear the funniest things! The joys of fifth grade...
