The upper trough will strengthen on Tuesday, and it, along with an associated upper trough, will move eastwards across the southern interior in the middle of the week. Forecast for the rest of Sunday Patchy light rain over the Channel Country. Fine and clear across the remainder of the state except for some isolated light showers about the northeast coast. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the southern and northern east coasts. Monday 14 July Isolated showers about parts of the east coast. Areas of patchy, mainly light rain developing over Queenslands interior. Areas of early frost over the southeast interior. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the southern and northern east coasts. Tuesday 15 July The high should weaken as it moves into the Tasman Sea, but will still push some showers across Queenslands eastern districts in an onshore wind flow. The upper trough should strengthen over the western districts, and should produce some patchy areas of mainly light rain and possibly some thunderstorms over the southern interior. Fine though partly cloudy over the northern interior. Wednesday 16 July The chance of some showers about parts of the tropical east coast in a weakening onshore flow. The upper trough, and associated shower and possible storm activity, should shift across the southeast of the state, and then clear off the coast late in the day. A new ridge of high pressure over central Australia will push dry and cool westerly winds across the state, spreading into the southeast after the showers clear. Thursday 17 July The ridge over central Australia should continue to push cool, dry air across most of Queensland.
