Whose House Are You Building First? (Haggai 1-2 ) Do you ever feel like you work and work but you arent making any progress? Why might that be? You looked for much, but indeed it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? says the Lord of hosts. Because of My house that is in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house. Therefore the heavens above you withhold the dew, and the earth withholds its fruit. (Haggai 1:9-10) This verse reminds me of a verse in the New Testament as well. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33) God promises that if we seek Him and His Kingdom (or those things that concern Him) first then other things will be added to us. Conversely, if we put anything else higher in priority than we put Him then it wont be blessed. How is your life working for you? Have you been working on your own kingdom or house or things that concern you as higher priority than your relationship with the Lord and His Kingdom?
