Who’s heading back to work this week and would like to release tension at the end of the working day? This simple legs-up-the-wall-pose will calm your nerves, balance your endocrine system, relieve fatigue and offer your body a complete relaxation at the end of a long day. To do it, find a wall or railing with enough space in front of it for you to fit. If you do not have a bolster, why not roll up a towel or a blanket into a cylinder and place it on the floor. Place your buttocks on the edge of the towel/blanket/bolster, lie on your side and roll onto your back. Snug your shoulders down your back, place your arms out to the side or even above your head, maintaining a soft bend in the elbows. Feel your whole body saying “aaaaahhhhhh” Stay here for 5-10 minutes or as long as you feel comfortable. To come out bend your knees and roll onto your side. Stay here enjoying the sense of peace in your body for a few moments before sitting up.
