Why Chukwu accepted to run for Ebonyi guber race The Minister of Health Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu has accepted what he described as calls from Ebonyi people to present himself to contest for the governorship position of Ebonyi state saying that he has accepted to run. The Minister also debunked the rumour that he has resigned his appointment as the Minister of Health noting that he sizes to be the Minister of Health by 12midnight of Sunday 20th October. Prof Chukwu made the revelations yesterday at the Women Development Center Abakaliki the venue where he accepted to contest the governorship position of Ebonyi state. The Minister also paid a courtesy visit to the governor Chief Martin Elechi at the government House to intimate him of his intention to run for the position of the governor. The Minister noted that he has read and heard from both the print and broadcasting media the various calls from the people of Ebonyi state to come and offer himself for further service of contesting the governorship positions of the state come 2015 general election. Prof Chukwu who was received my thousands of supporters said that he has come to tell the people that he has accepted to present himself to contest noting that he is humble by their request. I have received several phone calls, text messages, I have also read and heard from both print and broadcasting media the request asking me to present myself to contest the governorship position of the state come 2015 general election and I am here to inform all the Ebonyians that I have accepted to run. Prof Chukwu promised to move the state forward through provision of infrastructure development that will place Ebonyi state among the leading state in the country noting that he will create jobs for the youth, strengthen the agriculture sector and general industrialization of the state. He further promised to maintained the spirit and aspirations of the founding fathers which according him should bind us together. He thanked all Ebonyians for their love and faith in him especially the governor for throwing his weight behind this project saying that he will not disappoint the state.
