Why EFF won Ten seats(Sasco cannot be blamed for this) By Mj Wa Azania I find it unnecessary to blame Sasco Provincial leadership or the mentioned professor for the PYA loss to Economic freedom fighters in the University of limpopo. Though students are frustrated with the long awaited Free education which its failure is being fueled by shortage of Nsfas funds but I think the blame should be directed to the Ancyl NTT as well as the PTT in the province. Historical there has been a direct influence from the ANCYL and provincial leadership towards SRC elections depending on the Face you invite or you send. EFF students knew exactly that should they bring Julius Malema or any Populists from the Party there will be possibilities of winning the elections. Who did we have as PYA to motivate students and bringing the momentum? The fact that you are an MPL or MP does not mean you can handle all the campaigns happening within MDM in the province. PYA should have thought better about this SRC and I hope it will send a strong message to Sasco NEC in regard to their recent ambitions on who should lead the Ancyl, whether their desire has the potential to rebuild the Ancyl. Students are not charmed by suits and expensive cars but they need content which is in line with their standard. You cant bring people who are far away from the students heart. People who are not known by the students. Even those who have got resources must not just invite themselves, let them invest resources but delegate relevant people. The Src elections should not be used as a campaign to display our interests hiding behind assisting students but be used to push the expectations of students. This caused PYA to lose elections because people saw this as platform to appear for their agendas. We use to have leaders with content campaigning with students and victory was always our last word. This might be taken for granted but one day we shall wake up just to find EFF in total power.
