Why I believe the Electorate voted as they did was not a specific mandate toward a vision or plan provided by the Republicans as in 1994, but rather away from the current vision of our current President for America. There was not a united platform given by the Republican candidates. In this election cycle, it seems that the only uniform message was that they would stop the current direction of the country. The Real Clear Politics Average Poll shows that 66% of the country feel we are headed in the wrong direction. Thats what the election results showed last night. The American Electorate wants a change in direction. I believe the trick is going to be for the new governing Party to determine what the Electorate want instead, and then fight this President to get it. The Presidents vision has been determined by the Electorate to be contrary to their view of our future. I dont believe we the Electorate, will accept becoming a 3rd World Country and disengaged from World Politics.
