Why I dont care about petitions for #sororitysisters: Since 2006, when the 1st season of Flavor Of Love aired, women have been consistently subjected to demeaning and downright laughable depictions, on almost every major network, and media outlets. Networks saw that they could capitalize on Portrayals, so they gathered those JUST LIKE YOU, who were willing to take the leap, and created many more degrading shows, i.e. Love And whatever and Real Housewives of.... These shows have GLOBALLY shaped your perception, YET these same shows are watched faithfully, are a major part of Social Media conversation, and DVRd by the people they so inaccurately depict. Not only are these shows watched, but emulated in style, demeanor, dialect, attitude, and verbiage, by young girls everywhere. Where you bark and scoff at the word B****, you now embrace BISH? Really? Now...Why on earth would you petition one show, and not the Movement? How can you be incensed by one show, and not its Family? Is it that what we rep is more important than who we are? What you represent is just that, its one image of you; WHO you are defines you. Unfortunately, women have been defined by these shows, inaccurately, by a few that have had, or are having their 15 minutes of Fame, and SOME careers.... I understand, its never funny when it hits home, however this shouldve hit home LONG before the sacredness and image of societies were at risk. Weve risked our rightful place, for laughs and conversation.. And as far as Society Sacredness, no matter how you travel, please trust that if theyll do THIS for the money, theyll Sell THAT for the same..... Lets work to rid the false perception of all, not just one.....
