Why I joined the AAP? I“The Darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis” This original quote by Dante and often ascribed to Martin Luther King was in the inside page of Dan Brown’s Inferno, which I happened to be reading at that point of time. This quote stirred my conscience, and I was hitherto maintaining a policy of not being politically active. I felt that I must stand up for my nation, which is going through the deepest moral crisis of its times. - Corruption is at all time high. - Money can achieve anything, as evidenced in the Aston Martin case. I also saw that Arvind Kejriwal had left a comfortable position in life and if someone like him was not supported, then what hope does the nation have? The proverbial last straw was when BJP appointed Poonam Mahajan as the candidate for my ward. As against this the AAP candidate was eminent lawyer Phiroze Palkhiwala. I also noticed at the same time that many of my friends, whom I admire, had joined the AAP. My decision was made and I went online and took the first step. I filled the form and joined as a member of a political party.
