Why I write what I do - I normally dont post reviews from Amazon but when I received this one I cried. I believe that writing about gay men increases awareness and without awareness you have no empathy. If straight women have no clue that gay men struggle then they wont ever change their votes. If they dont think its unfair that gay men are treated like shit in the business world, devalued by the legal system because they cant claim spousal benefits, and even beaten or killed because they are gay then straight women wont care because the gay world is so removed from them they just dont even see it. Writing gay literature, even if some of it is erotic to increase sales, means that more people know. Here is the review. Having just read the title and without reading the description, I just one clicked on the series. Imagine my surprise when finding out that I was not going to be reading what I believed was a traditional sweet Texas love story. However, I am glad that I decided to continue to read on. These books tested my boundaries on love and enlightened me. Sara York wrote a beautiful story and challenged my beliefs. She made me visualize each character through personal struggles and triumphs and I wanted to continue reading. This is a one-click mistake that I do not regret because I not only read a well written book with a good story but my personal belief system was put to the test. Many of us older generation are stubborn in our ways and beliefs, but I am personally glad that a good book can teach me to grow. In the future, when I one-click on one of Ms. York’s books, it will not be by mistake but with my eyes wide open and fully aware of the type of love story I will be reading and I look forward to experiencing all she has to offer.
