Why Secular Parties should be allies of the Modi & the NDA? I - TopicsExpress

Why Secular Parties should be allies of the Modi & the NDA? I read an article where an upper class lady was of the view that she just wants economic growth and does not care about anything else. I was arguing with a friend about the same thing as the lady mentioned. I also want economic growth at any cost and I am not starving, I support Modi. There is one point I think we all our missing - In India governments are formed with more than one party i.e coalition government. However strong the Modi wave is in the country, the BJP or the current NDA will not be able to surpass the magical figure of 272. Now if they do not get the magical figure they will have to be supported by a Naveen Patnaik, a Mamata Banerjee or a Jayalalitha, currently they are not wanting to be associated with the NDA as they belief Mr Modi is not secular and is communal. The good news is, without the support of secular parties, the NDA will not be able to form the government. If NDA is supported by the so called secular parties it is going to a Win-Win for the supporting parties, the country and Mr Modi. How this works is Mr Modi becomes the PM (win for him) he manages to achieve economic growth, win for the country and the parties supporting the NDA become stronger for the next election (win for allies as they have achieved economic growth). As the rule of law has it the PM does not take all decision alone, he needs to be supported by his allies. If NDA or Mr Modi does something that hurts the minorities, the secular parties can pull the plug (withdraw support) with no confidence Mr Modi loses power and the secular allies again win in the eyes of the public as they stopped Mr Modi from say another Riot. India political system is not like Germanys we are not creating a Hitler for economic gains. We are a democracy, we are giving a chance to someone with new and better ideas for the growth of this country and if he is not secular the secular allies are always there to pull the plug and call for the 17th Lok Sabha elections. For the prosperous and secular future of the country it is very important for secular parties to be allies of Mr Modi then just shrugging him away and calling him a communal force.
