Why The Liberal Obsession With Race? Because Its The Easy Way Can you imagine the Greatest Generation as they landed on the beaches of Normandy, screaming, “Stop shooting at us! You’re a racist!” Because, if there ever was a racist country, Nazi Germany was one. They only killed six million of a race they didn’t like. But no, the Greatest Generation, including the Tuskegee Airmen and other black units, fought Nazi Germany head on. They did the dirty, bloody, scary, hard work and won the war. I have often wondered why the Left in America is so focused on race? What could be the reason that they bring it up over and over again as a trump card of first, second, and last resort? I have come to the conclusion that the answer is the Left is lazy. They don’t want to do the scary, difficult, unending work of building a successful society. No, they just want something for free. This free-stuff includes money, fame, self-confidence, education, access, political power, et cetera, et cetera. The list goes on and on. Instead of building up a culture that values hard work and sacrifice to get ahead, they demand reparations. Instead of competing head-on to get in a prestigious university, they demand affirmative action (or, said in another way, reverse discrimination.) Instead of competing in the arena of political ideas, Obama and Attorney General Holder play the race card. Instead of looking in the mirror at some cultural practices that lead to crime and other vices, they cry “racial profiling!” At its core, marxism, and its twin socialism, are just extreme irresponsibility. They stand for taking from others, blaming others for your faults and failures, and giving the Left an easy way to escape the consequences of their own behaviors. Why get an idea, find capital, start a business, and go through all of that hard work when you can just redistribute wealth? Most wealthy people in the West didn’t inherit it. They got it through blood, sweat, and tears. Yes, there are trust fund babies out there; but that is not the norm. What the Left has also realized is that the race card equals power. If used effectively, the race card has been known to control the behavior of others. Just look at what is going on with the Washington Redskins situation. Here, you have the Left attempting to bully a private enterprise into getting what they want. I can honestly say I have never heard of anyone saying they are offended by the name–and two of my children are native Americans. Again, race is an easy way to obtain power for the Left. The bottom-line is that until our liberal friends realize that nothing is free, and that the only way to really get ahead in our society is to work hard, then our overall society will suffer–and America will not be as great as she could be. We are experiencing the fruits of this marxist attitude as we see our nation in decline in front of our eyes. We have a black president for God’s sake.
