Why TripAdvisor is getting a bad review! It was interesting to hear from a a regular customer that I had been reviewed very badly online. (e.g tripadvisor.au/) I went to the site and frankly was quiet taken back. As I read through the reviews I started to relies some of these were disgruntled customers and people who were kicked out of the hostel for causing problems and many of these simply gave me zero on all aspects of my review. I bought this up with a person from TripAdvisor and was simply told that people had the right to rate the place how they see fit. This was very sad as many of these people have placed zero on all aspects of the ratings. I then did a search on GOOGLE asking the question (what can you do about false reviews about your business?) and happily it seems to be a real problem around the world. It should also be noted that a number of these people had threatened to place bad reviews on line if I did not give them their money back after being kicked out of the hostel, in fact one went as far as to say I had to give him three more days free.
