Why Yahshua (Jesus) had to die? John16:5-15 5 Now Im going to the one who sent me. Yet, none of you asks me where Im going. 6 But because Ive told you this, youre filled with sadness. 7 However, I am telling you the truth: Its good for you that Im going away. If I dont go away, the helper wont come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 8 He will come to convict the world of sin, to show the world what has Gods approval, and to convince the world that God judges it. 9 He will convict the world of sin, because people dont believe in me. 10 He will show the world what has Gods approval, because Im going to the Father and you wont see me anymore. 11 He will convince the world that God judges it, because the ruler of this world has been judged. 12 I have a lot more to tell you, but that would be too much for you now. 13 When the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into the full truth. He wont speak on his own. He will speak what he hears and will tell you about things to come. 14 He will give me glory, because he will tell you what I say. 15 Everything the Father says is also what I say. That is why I said, He will take what I say and tell it to you. __________________________________________ Yahshuas death was the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies about the coming Messiah. We also know that through His suffering, Yahshua, Yahweh’s only Son, paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world, including yours and mine. attribution: cbn/spirituallife/churchandministry/evangelism/Gowen-Dennis_Jesus_Die_Cross.aspx ______________________________________ The reason Jesus had to die for our sins was so that we could be forgiven and go to be with the Lord. Jesus is God in flesh (John 1:1 ,14; Col. 2:9), and only God can satisfy the Law requirements of a perfect life and perfect sacrifice that cleanses us of our sins. All people have sinned against God. But, God is infinitely holy and righteous. He must punish the sinner, the Law- breaker. If He didnt, then His law is not Law, for there is no law that is a law without a punishment. The punishment for breaking the Law is death--separation from God. Therefore, we sinners need a way to escape the righteous judgment of God. Since we are stained by sin and cannot keep the Law of God, then the only one who could do what we cannot is God Himself. That is why Jesus is God in flesh. He is both divine and human. He was made under the Law (Gal. 4:4), and He fulfilled it perfectly. Therefore, His sacrifice to God the Father on our behalf is of infinite value and is sufficient to cleanse all people from their sins and undo the offense to God . His mission as God come in the flesh on Earth has been completed. It was time for him to return to the Father. If he did not die or return to the Father, The Father could not send the Holy Spirit to us. Yahshua as a man could not live inside our hearts and he was physically limited as a human being. That is why Yahshua had to return to the Father in order for the Father to send the Holy Spirit , who is more powerful, potent and formidable force.
