Why You Need to Call Your State Senator Tomorrow Yesterday, SB 1714 passed the Senate Rules Committee after some changes were made in an amendment by Senator Gardner for Senator Stargel. You may or may not be fan of craft beer. I am a Jack Daniels man myself. It shouldnt matter. This is a great example of large industries paying for regulations that keep small businesses from competing in the marketplace. This will force brewers to sell their product to a distributor - in some cases buying it back at a higher cost- and a legislature that has taken over $800,000 from the distributors that will benefit most. These politicians will use this money to make grassroots candidates unable to compete so they can win elections and continue to pass these and many other types of liberty killing legislation. The distributors are part of the corporate interests that fund the politicians which contributes to the problems that we see now. This is only one industry that has large corporations using government to limit competition and kill small business. If you are like me and want to restore this country to the principles that we were founded on, than this type of activity has to stop and we have to make our voices heard. Call your senator and let him know that you want them to vote against SB 1714. You want him to start representing you and not the special interests. Tell them that backroom deals and favors for corporate friends and donors has to end in Tallahassee. Tell them that we want a return to free market principles because that is the only thing that will fix the economy.
