Why am I going to this tonight when it doesnt really affect me? Because, that feeling I get in my stomach, the sour mix of anger, paranoia, and fear, when Im doing something wrong and notice theres a cop nearby- I imagine feeling that way more often, only when I havent done anything wrong. I imagine feeling that way any time Im out in public after dark, or even just walking home from work, or simply waiting for a bus or shopping in a store. That is the way a lot of Black men are made to feel because of the racial profiling in our system. How do I know this is true? Because I go to these events, and I engage in this dialogue. I ask people why they feel the way they feel, and I listen. #ferguson #mikebrown #actup #alloppressionisconnected
