Why are so many Americans upset with Germany winning the World Cup? 80% of German workers are covered by collective bargaining compared to 10% in the US. Germans enjoy the worlds best education, healthcare, and transportation systems in the world. The country will derive 100% of their energy from renewables within a decade. And they also just passed one of the worlds highest minimum wage. This is a country which was bombed to the Stone Age 60 years ago and now their citizens travel on speed trains while Americans endure the same decrepit 1950s rail system. If the US were more like Germany, we would not only win football games, but we wouldnt have to suffer from corporate Americas planet-destroying, child starving hegemony. I know, I know. Germany pushed austerity down the throats of Europeans. The US did the same for three decades to pretty much the entire world with the exception of China. Its Germanys world again, and we are just living in it. Just be thankful the Allies reset their course for a more humane method of world domination.
