Why are some people DEMONIZING Christmas? What is it about the celebration of Christs birth that has then so offended? Our ancestors (YES, YOURS ALSO!) celebrated Christmas with NO ill effects; we were not worshipping some pagan god, we only knew Jesus. It does not matter that Jesus was not born on Dec. 25th, what matters is that WE REMEMBER HIS BIRTH! What is the TRUE origin of the Christmas tree? There is a movement these days trying to demonize ALL mention of Christmas. Yesterday I was named ungodly for daring to suggest that the Nativity in Christmas may be the only gospel some people get. Who wants to eliminate Christmas? 1. Scrooge. 2. The Grinch. 3. Islamist. 4. Atheist. 5. Satan. 6. Liberals. Why do they want to eliminate Christmas? The name Christmas gives you the answer: They hate Christ. Germany is credited with starting the Christmas tree tradition as we now know it in the 16th century when devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes. Some built Christmas pyramids of wood and decorated them with evergreens and candles if wood was scarce. It is a widely held belief that Martin Luther, the 16th-century Protestant reformer, first added lighted candles to a tree. Walking toward his home one winter evening, composing a sermon, he was awed by the brilliance of stars twinkling amidst evergreens. To recapture the scene for his family, he erected a tree in the main room and wired its branches with lighted candles. O Tannenbaum (O Christmas Tree) The modern lyrics were written in 1824 by the Leipzig organist, teacher and composer Ernst Anschütz. A Tannenbaum is a fir tree. The lyrics do not actually refer to Christmas, or describe a decorated Christmas tree. Instead, they refer to the firs evergreen qualities as a symbol of constancy and FAITHFULNESS. God is the spirit of love. Any one want to debate on this? Do you agree? When you take a stand that ANY MENTION of CHRIST- mas is evil, and you condemn someone for even using the term, are you filled with LOVE? FORGIVENESS? ARENT YOU DENYING CHRIST-mas? In case youre wondering, I AM NOT taking up for pagan holidays. I AM angry with the HATRED you are spreading in the name of anti-Christmas posts. You are calling Christians evil! STOP THE HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christmas has never been celebrated at any time other than Dec. 25th. Growing up I NEVER KNEW IT WAS A PAGAN HOLIDAY. All I knew, was that I was with family, we celebrated Christs birth, LOVE was the bounty we received. Today, all of a sudden Christmas is declared evil, HATE is the bounty we are recieving. HATRED is spread instead of forgiveness and love.
