Why are we always late? Once there was a king who had five lazy sons. He did not know how to change them. One day a wise man met the king and told him that he could change the princes, but needed no interference from anybody including the king. The king agreed. The wise man called all the five sons to the hall. He told them that he had received orders from the king to train them. He said that he had a few rules which he conducted the training. He the wise man is the general. The eldest son is the officer and all the rest are soldiers. The general gives orders to the officer, and the officer in turn gives the same orders to the soldiers. If soldiers are clear, but the officer fails to follow them, the officer will be punished. If the orders of the officer are clear, and the soldiers fail to follow them, then the soldiers will be punished. The wise man gave the orders to stand at attention. The officer and the soldiers just laughed. The wise man gave the orders for the second time and again the laughed. The wise man stopped and explained that nobody would follow orders if the consequences for disobedience are not painful. The wise man not punished them up till then, was to give them a second chance and to remind them of the consequence. He gave the orders for the third time and again they laughed. The wise man called for the executioner to cut off the little finger of the officer. The cutting off of the finger made everybody realize the pain of the consequences of disobedience From then on; they followed every order of the wise man. What can we learn from this story? Almost everybody will not follow orders or instructions from superiors or parents, of the do not realize that the consequence for disobedience is very painful. If they are not punished when they make a mistake, they will not be frightened to disobey. They must be given a few chances to realize the consequences of disobedience. Punishment is a means of correcting behavior not as a means to release ager. Be very careful not to punish anybody out of anger. This will create rebellious children. We must not forget to reward them when they behave and succeed. If someone is late for an appointment school or work, And is not made to feel pain for being late, Will he/she change? If someone disobeys and is not made to feel pain for disobeying.
