Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil - TopicsExpress

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation Psalm 42:5 Trials, we all have them – whether it is illness or the death of a loved one, our finances, disappointments, broken faith or broken hearts. Upon waking up we have a moment when the worry or fear or longing is gone – and then we remember what the day is going to bring and the weight of the world falls on us and we wonder ‘Why God?’ (I say to God, my rock: "Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?" Psalms 42:9). I’m here to tell you my sweet friend - He is with you, you are not going through this alone – He stands beside you holding you up. (By day the LORD commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. Psalms 42:8). Turn towards Him, don’t let anger or worry or fear and even resentment cloud your vision or steal your peace – just because you can’t feel Jesus near you doesn’t mean He’s not there (Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10) God is truth – He cannot lie! Believe Him; find peace and security and comfort and strength in His words. Hang on to that today – time will dull the pain and time will heal your wounds – during that time He will be carrying you when you can’t find the strength to go on. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:2
