Why cant 12 inch blocks be 11 or 11.5??? lol... I am trying to finish a friends quilt as you go log cabin quilt. Colors are beautiful but my initial work was less than... welll... lovely. I was short or the fabric twisted. So after trying 7 blocks with not so great results, i figured out how to use my walking foot (fear factor x 10) and when i got half way through the block, i adjusted my stitches to increase or decrease the space. challenging on many accounts. I also learned that if i line up the square against the edge of my machine i was able to keep the blocks straighter. No, I am NOT going to take all those 7 blocks apart. I am going to sprinkle them throughout the rest of the quilt to minimize their impact. Always learning something! I will show the finished quilt when done..... The single shot is the best block. the 2 together are oh well blocks...
